Thanks Michael. That glow was barely evident when I started, but sometimes nature speaks to you and you have to listen - that effect only lasted for about a minute, but it definitely made the painting.

Thanks Jilya. Interesting that a very simple painting, executed very quickly can get such a favourable response. There's a lesson there somewhere - must remember it!

Those bright colors in the second one are wonderful! They really show off that bright clear winter light when you can find it!

Both are wonderful, Michael! The sunlight on the bare trees does it for me in the second one. Trees that seem to have almost no color at midday just glow when hit by late afternoon sun!

Thanks Donna. Funny thing about winter sunlight is that it makes everything seem more colourful. Probably has to do with the angle of the sun.
