Arrow February 2010 Landscape Challenge

Hello Artists!!

Welcome to the February Landscape Challenge

All Media and all skill levels are welcome. The object is to have fun, practice, and to share. You have all month to do one, two, or all of the photos.

You can crop, edit, and rearrange the images as you would like. Take parts of one and add it to the other -- be creative!!

When you are finished with your painting, please post it here in this thread.

See the January thread HERE

1. Is everybody ready for summer yet?? This summer photo was taken down the road from where I live in Jasper, Tennessee
Here is a link to a larger photo: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...o=88999&cat=37

2. Autumn is, of course, my favorite time of year and I took this photo last fall while out plein air painting. It was a cold, beautiful autumn day.

3. Here is a winter photo I took in Old Forge, NY. Such a beautiful, but extremely cold place.

4. This photo is of an old painted green barn in spring, just down the road from my home in Jasper, TN.

HAPPY PAINTING!!

Great reference photos, Paula! I'm hoping to do at least one, although my three art classes this quarter are keeping me more than busy with art assignments.

Thanks for hosting.... Nice choice of subjects. After the snow challenges in January, the Spring comes up like a vengeance. I hope to have time to do at least one....

Re: February 2010 Landscape Challenge

Thanks, they look like interesting photos.

The first one will help me practice my trees. The winter scene is a really nice composition and will make a lovely painting.

The autumn photo looks difficult.

Re: February 2010 Landscape Challenge

Wow, Paula, you give us the four seasons. LOL. Definitely, I have to try some of these references with all my new supplies. I have to, or all that long laboring hours to save up for these supplies would be wasted....as soon as I get a day off!

Thank you for the great photos! I might not be able to put too many monsters in these landscapes since I'm still too tired to think creatively but hopefully, at least one.
