The water makes some interesting undulations in the sand, I like the second one best, and the black sand (I think it is sand) in the third shot, it gives an interesting background to the shell

Thanks. The 2nd's my favorite too, though I probably should've tweaked it to bring out the pattern before posting it. It is sand with the shell.

Vince: I like the sand shots. Jackson Pollock would have lovd them. Great abstractions. I wonder what happened the rest of the crab tho. Someone's lunch? Maybe there's a happy Gull flying arounf there somewhere.

You know ... the first one is my favorite ... I'd like to see that pattern on a countertop or floor. Are those holes in the sand or darker stones? Regardless ... nice shots.

They're bubble holes. There are a few with the crab leg too (I guess the seagull was full).

The first one is the sharpest. Over all you could use more contrast. Probably underexposure is the culprit. Sand is pretty bright and your camera's meter will read it as a mid grey. What does a meter now about sand? I like the swirly and lumpy textures. Watch your focus though. Keep it coming.

I agree. More contrast would've helped the 2nd and 3rd.
