Acrylics Forum Self Portrait Challenge

We missed last year but, I would like to continue the idea of a yearly self portrait challenge.

How it works. If you decide to participate you are to do a self portrait in acrylics in any style, size, substrate or ... the only limit is that it must be done in acrylics. This is a chance to play a bit, try a new style, expand or limit your colors and or techniques. In other words, this is a chance to play and look yourself in the eye.

The reveal date is going to be February 20th, so we about 3.5 weeks to get it done.

Please remember, do not reveal your self portrait until I announce the opening of this thread to posting on the 20th.

Let's have some fun.

I hope this is how we see ourselves? or does it have to be true? Can I shave off a few pounds and give myself a facelift? hmmmmmmm, I might be too busy. Yes, that's it, too busy.....

It can be anything you want as long as it is something akin to a portrait. It can be a fantasy, a distortion, a perception, a reality, a scifi nightmare. This is a time to play a bit.

Follow this link and you can see the results of the last self portrait challenge.

Re: Acrylics Forum Self Portrait Challenge

I'd love to jump in, but will be away in La Paz Mexico from 2/5 - 2/23.
I've always wanted to be Native American and do have some NA in me from way back to my great grandfather. I'd do myself as NA - palette knife applied with some abstract effects. Can one post after 2/20?

Too bad those 2008's don't have any names connected. The only one I recognize for sure is Susan.

What a wonderful challenge. Dusting off the acrylics now (not used them for a while) and hope to take part if time allows.

I'm game Howard! Now I want to come up with something completely different! I recognize quite a few from the 2008 gallery. For those who participate again, it will be fun to see the difference!
