Blue Tipped Pansy

Hi all,

I did this pansy on white stonehenge with Prismas, 8 x 10 inches. The photo makes it look a bit grey, I actually didnt put any grey in it, the colours are more subtle in real life. This is my second flower in CP, I also attach the first from my patio outside, which I did last July.

Thanks for looking

Hi
Both flower pictures are excellent. I particularly like the geranium plant - it sits nicely in its environment.

Wonderful job, I especially like the geranium leaves, good coloring, and interesting perspective on that piece.

Both drawings are lovely - I particularly like the use of complimentary colours on the second one. Boy, does it make the colours "pop"!

Re: Blue Tipped Pansy

These are both really lovely! Great job showing roundness of the top left corner pot...and I really like the leaves in that one as well...as well as the tile on which they sit. Nice work.

The second one has great qualities as well. I like the varied background. You did a great job in blending, but keeping the veins in the petals. That can be a challenge. What I like best about this one is the use of negative space. That really pushes the flower to the viewer. Leaves are nice in this one too. I was wondering what you did different to the bottom rt. hand leaf in this one. It looks a little different. Thanks, Pam

Re: Blue Tipped Pansy

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the comments. OC you always give good critques I blended in this with a cotton bud for the first time, and it works very well, Ill do that again. I know I should understand what you mean by "use of negative space" but I dont really, if you read this again let me know and excuse my lack of knowledge

Re: Blue Tipped Pansy

I recall how much I liked your first one Lexycat, and the pansy is lovely as well!

Negative space refers to background area and shapes as opposed to shape of your subject.
