Re: Different Strokes: Acrylics Forum Project, November
Although I didn't sign up for this project, I decided to give it a try. Very nice paintings here already. 9 x 12 acrylic on Canson 185 lb paper. Lil

Re: Different Strokes: Acrylics Forum Project, November
Vivien, you did a great job, and yes, you should be happy with that tablecloth!
Steve, nice crop and bright colours!
Nancie, well done, and the reflections look just fine!
Dewi, nice work, very unusual crop. These candies are licorice by the way, not one of my favourites. The ones I like aren't in this mix, the gummy ones with the tiny candy coating. But we should be glad we didn't have to paint those, lol.
Marion, well done! It has a bit of softness to it that is nice.
Linda very nice!
Erica, good work!
Beth, good use of shapes and colours.
Colleen, another brave one to paint the tablecloth. Well done!
Lil, great job!

I painted mine on a 6.5" round plaque, the painting itself is 5.75". A mixture of Folkart and Liquitex paints.

I'll comment later on all these super works.
Here's mine -still need to knock back the reflections and tidy it up, but that will have to wait! 7.5" x 5.5" on a piece of mountboard.

Re: Different Strokes: Acrylics Forum Project, November
Viv - this is so good - the cloth is amazing and the depth of sheen on the dish is great!
Steve -these look as if they're standing in the sunlight - great light!
Nan - I chose a similar crop for similar reasons!
Nice work here - and you are so right about the reflections - good thinking!!
I also like that it's quite big for the subject!
Dewi - also quite a big size! I like this - the shapes are good and I think that bottom yellow reflection is very good! the cloth is super
Marion - really good dish -reflections and highlights are super and I love the cloth!
Linda - another lovely painting! I really like that pink round one on the right! Yummy!!
Erica - welcome to DS! Love these rich, sumptious sweets! The colour mixtures are super and the paint luscious! It looks as if it should be much bigger!
Beth - love this unique take on the subject - your's is the most different interpretation. Very nice!
Colleen - this is a lovely painting - rich sweets and beautiful dish and cloth. Super!
Lil - glad you joined in - you don't have to sign up with the DS projects - it's just nice when we have a bit of chat going on to keep us involved until 'Pay Day'
This is a lovely painting - really like the smooth quality of your paint and the dish and cloth are great!
Michelle - beautiful painting and very creative interpretation - looks good in the round!! It has an 'olde worlde' look to it somehow. really like this!
Lillian - love this! Each sweet occupies its own space - tremendous! It's a really good size too - must look stunning in RL!
EP - my goodness - reality painting!!! It's very good too - like your textures and colours - good cloth.
Tremendous work from everyone - what a joy to see it all! I've gained stones in cyber-weight just savouring the goodies!

Maureen, Thanks for the comment. I enjoyed this one although it looked hard to do when I first saw it. Yours is so colorful and will be beautiful when finished although it looks done to me already. Lil

Great job, the rest of you! I like how some have cropped it, or pushed the color to temp the viewer, or brought more blue into the cloth. I will definitely try some. Tonight, though, I'm munching on low carb roasted almonds.
