Re: HOWARDSVILLE WINTER
I was just wondering
Are you part of some group which includes 52 other Crazy Women?
Anyhow, I view the painting as part of a Colorado series and I think it's your best. You've handled the mountains, shadows and clouds beautifully and the line of trees bring perspective and a lovely composition.

Regardless, really nice.

Re: HOWARDSVILLE WINTER
YD.. I'm trying to convince myself winter here isn't so bad in comparison to CO and where I used to live. Brrr is right!
Thomas.. thanks.. glad you liked it.
Bob.. Well let's see... if you asked most men they would probably say all women are crazy.. but no... I am a unique crazywoman all to myself... long story I can't go into here. The 53 is the year I was born... yikes now you all now how old I am (not) how's that for positive thinking? Thanks for your comments, I always appreciate them.
Tony... you might be right .. maybe a tad bit of purple in the shadow.. imagine me leaving out purple?

Re: HOWARDSVILLE WINTER
Hi Christine. This looks like the view we had of Long's Peak or Twin Sisters, anyway it sure takes me back to my beloved mountains. It is a beautiful scene, but I do have a nit. I think the trees on the right side are too small and should gradually diminish in size, especially the foremost one or two. What you think? Isn't it nice we are not there shoveling? Nice work, keep em' coming.....Lenore

Re: HOWARDSVILLE WINTER
This is great! It makes me want to be on skis. The one thing that hit me about it is that it seems to have a center of interest competition between the tree and background mountain. I think if you brought down the saturation of the mountains a bit and emphasized the light on the tree a little bit more i think it would be stronger in my opinion. But all in all this is excellent work, it also makes me want to try pastels sometime! I attached a quick edit to kind of show what i was thinking.

Re: HOWARDSVILLE WINTER
Freeskier89.. I see what you are talking about. I think the blues in the photo are a little stronger than in reality. And I actually debated about going warmer on the foreground tree. I actually wanted the mountain to be the main show here so I chose to tone down the tree in the end. Perhaps I need to do even more so? I'll give it some thought.
