Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009
Bonnie - they're all good ..... don't do landscapes indeed! Do like that first one though!!
EP - we call those carafes cafetieres here
I absolutely love that landscape and bridge - so don't change your name!!!
The others are very lively and the cafetiere is pretty too .... I'm disappointed you missed the leaves in #3, but I'll forgive you as you hurried those two!!!
Bell - I understand totally how you feel and no good forcing things ... time will tell you when it's right to pick up the brushes again

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009
Thanks everyone for for your encouraging comments.
Linee - Beautiful copper colour in yours and I love the loose background.
Dewi - Good crop and lovely colours.
Anghwar - Lovely abstract work.
Maureen - Very nice work, good work on all those leaves.
Artastic - The coffee pot is gorgeous. I like the blue background too. The landscape and copper boiler are fab too. Don't know how you found the time to do all three.
Eyepaint - don't change your name. Good work on all 3. I like the bridge/landscape the best.

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009
Linda, very nicely done, I love the light play on the copper.
Dewi, love the colors close to the green I wanted to include in mine.
Pam, lovely painting wouldn't know it's 'el-cheapo' acrylics, thanks for the comment.
Maureen, nice to see you again too and thank you for the comments on (my first abstract), love the fall colors in yours, I like the old wood in the wheel.
Bonnie, the stillife is awsome I love the color choice as well. The landscape is nice and the boiler and wheels is super, very industrious. THe stillife gets my vote, I had to scroll back up and look at it again. Thank you for the comments on my poor attempt.
Eeps, lovely to see you again and as usual you too have had too much time on your hands your paintings always makes me think of fun and happy thoughts race through my head. Thanks for the comments. I call these coffee brewers 'a Bodum' not sure if that is a manufacturers name but I do recall when I spent some time in Canada searching for one from store to store until I tracked it down. I like to brew my Chinese teas in it (using leaf instead of bags) it keeps all the dregs in the bottom but let the flavour through.
Dorothy, a lovely painting I like the background and the light is wonderful. Also a warm welcome.
Hi Nonny glad you dropped in to keep us in line.

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009
Hi dances with oils, hope you feel better and have spirit in painting again soon.
Interesting painting and colours Anghwar.
Pam, lovely and I like your negative space colours too.
Maureen, it's beautiful, love your style on variety of colour fall leaves too.
Bonnie, nice too see all three from the host; the coffee press/plunger (?) is beautifully done and colours combinations, reminds me of your other painting from the WDE.
Lovely landscape and your backyard esp. the copper boiler.
EP, lovely landscape with beautiful purple and cute coffee carafe and nice bright wheel.
Dorothy; it is a beautiful painting and IMHO the plate is very good, beautiful light and glass too.
Thank you for all nice comments on my work

Dewi, love the colors, crop and style!
Anghwar, your circles look playful, and the colors elegant.
Pam, I really like the water color feel, so soft and fluid.
Maureen, I like the mix of cools and warms. Perfect for Fall!
Eyepaintwell, I especially like your landscape with the breeze in the trees. The bold colors of the other 2 add impact to the subjects.
Dorothy, lovely antique feel to your color choices. Adds a sense of nostalgia.

Dorothy - lovely light coppery effect on the coffee pot. The plate looks great. The fabric background is very well done too.
