If I were painting a person with red hair, I would have nailed the colour... for copper? Not even close... back to the mixing board...

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009

Hi

I'd like to join in this month's challenge - never done one before.

I've done my sketch and am now blocking in colours for the background. I haven't even tried to mix a copper colour yet - that should be an interesting challenge. Thanks for the earlier tips on colour mixing that's a great help to a humble beginner!

Welcome Pam - you'll enjoy this!

Bonnie - thanks for getting this set up - and for being so kind to our Peeps by researching the making of copper colours ... don't make it too easy for them!!!

Nice selection of different 'coppers' here - I'll get cracking soon as ..... and EP has finished already? *gulp*

Linda - glad you're able to join us to paint .... not much longer eh?

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009

I've got a busy weekend ahead so I had to get cracking on the project. Tomorrow's the 10th and before I know it will be the 20th.

Re: Different Strokes - September- 2009

I really love the first one. I want to try it. I am scared, really scared. Never done still life and especially never have done copper, but I have an itch to try it. I am coming in late in the challenge, but I am a fairly fast painter so might be able to finish in time. I am retired, so . . . we'll see. If it looks too ugly, you may not get to see my result. Is that not fair?? I can't wait to start it!
