Re: Different Strokes: July 2009

Kati - your waterfall has really captured the light - it's bursting out of the painting! Wow!
Teresa - it's like looking at a secret place through the foliage - really intimate (and nice foliage paintiing too).
Scott - glad you joined us! I like the transparent area at the bottom of the waterfall particularly.

Js - you can do all three if you wish! Entirely up to you
... and no matter how long we have been painting, we're all still 'in the learning phase' - or should be! So you are not alone!

Re: Different Strokes: July 2009

Love all the renditions I'm seeing. Everyone did wonderful work. And much thanks to all who commented on mine.
Lil - this has a grotto affect. Seems like a tranquil place to go & relax. Very nice.
JS - I thought of doing this one, but was a bit scared off of the size of the waterfall. You handled it easily. Love the small village too!
Tony - yours has that special grotto look too. You are so lucky to live so close to something so beautiful
Kati - love the shimmer to your water. It sparkles!
Teresa - love the simplicity of this. And your color too!
Sevansodi - you did the large waterfall too. Great perspective in your piece.
Steve - when I saw this photo I thought "knife work" to myself. You made it happen & it's wonderful!

Great work all! And thanks Tony for a fun Different strokes. Great photos!

Re: Different Strokes: July 2009

This has been a fun project to do, I recently joined this site and was happy to find this project. Never tried to paint a waterfall before. I just started this yesterday but I paint really quickly. Not sure if it is quite done but I thought I would post it and get in on the fun. The other paintings so far look great, I'll try to leave comments later.

These are 5x7" wc paper, liquid acrylics on the bottom and then some regular acrylics on top.
