Nice work with the light Richard, particularly how it catches her left eye.

Re: Studies 2009/07/17
<shakes head at how Tina berates herself for her so called figure drawing difficulties in other threads>
LOOK at that portrait... its a shinning beauty, and you have got her age absolutely right! Her mouth, eyes, hunch of those shoulders... not only have you captured the likeness and the 'spirit' (for want of a better word and my lack of vocab) you have made it your own. This doesn't look like it was done from Richard's excellent photograph, yet it looks so like her, as if both of you sat down side by side and did your work... how can that be explained??? I'm sure she would be thrilled!
Portraits are YOU... Tina!

Re: Studies 2009/07/17
Nice work Prosenjit.
Richard, thank you. She has a fabulous face, a beauty without blandness and therefore a marvellous muse. Its so much easier drawing from a quality photo, a very important lesson that! Does she have a name and if I put her on my blog should I mention your name?

The photo was an out-take, a favor I asked at the end of the session, and not part of the painting I'll be doing of her. Unnecessary to reference me, but if you're so inclined, thank you.

Can't speak for her, so let's honor the anonymity until I'm otherwise instructed. Besides, I crossed an ocean of time to find her . .
