July Landscape Challenge

Hi All,

Welcome to the July Landscape Challenge. All Media and all skill levels are welcome. The object is to have fun, practice and to share. You have all month to do one, two, three or all Four of the photos. You may crop, edit, and even rearrange the images as you would like. you may take parts of one and add it to the other. When you are finished with your painting, please post it here in this thread.

All the pic's are from St. Marys GA that i have taken. hope Y'all will join in and have fun.

We all like encouragement. So please take the time to comment ( or help if asked ) on other artist's entries.

Most of all have fun. can't wait to see everyones work.

This one pond by river. A few miles from where i live.

Three Palms. This is down the street by the boat ramp in town.

This one Private Drive, is down by the water front in town. a little to the right of three palms and a few block south.

This is the road I live on, Behind The Air Port a few blocks from where I live.

Sorry Jenny, i tried to keep the greens down to a min. but everything here is pretty much green I got blues in alot. if that helps.

Great reference photos! I'm in! But now, which one to do, what crop, what size ..... decisions, decisions!

Hi Nan, thank you, now you kind of know how i felt for the past cupple of Hrs. I had about 20 that i thinking of using. and thought there was 31 days in this month. what a supprise i had when i went on the June Challenge and found out there was only 30. and had to get this up right away almost. I went through your decision, decision mode. now i can relax a little. now it's your turn.

Hi Linn, thanks well you sure have some time to do them in. the second i did a kind of a version of it, but it was a P/A and never really got to finish it, people keep commomg up to me to ask question and just talk. when i started it the water line was way below where it is here, so a little later i took these pic's off the area. this is one. and when i ended up giving up that day the water was about to the top of the grasses. I have been wanting to paint this for some time now. so i guess now i'll have to do it. one way of getting it done. i'll be watching out for your's.

Pete...we have a spot here a couple of blocks from where I live that is a lot like the 2nd one. Only problem the only place to get a good view of it is from an interstate type highway...I'll have to make a point to get there early on a Sunday morning to stop and get a picture. Know what you mean about the tides...when the tide is out they look practically dry...not the same at all so if you can't finish painting it when you start it all of a sudden it is too late.

Well Linn, if you going to get a pic from the hiway you be careful hear. i will love to see it tho. my wife wants to go to the beach today with the grandchildren so getting ready to head out for a while. it's not that much of a cool down tho. the water is 80 or so, my type of water temp and we have cooled down a little not much out side around 92 they say for today. and 92 to 96 for the week. the beaches are going to be crowed this week end so today sounds good to me. have you started yet? I know it's not much time.

Hi Kenny, now you only have to July. 31 2010 to finish. think you could make it? LOL you need to finish the stone barn first. the first one was one of my few that made it to the trash bin when i first started pastels a few months back.. i tend to keep them even bad to check my progress but thes one was really bad. now i have A better idear. notice i said A not saying much better at all. so it would be nice to see what comes out of it this time.
