Paint Out # 16 - There's a Draft in Here
MY IMAGE(S):
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Paint Out # 16 - There's a Draft in Here
Year Created:
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: aXa
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
MY COMMENTS:
We all learn a lot by looking at and critiquing paintings. What if a bunch of us do the same subject? The extra learning comes as we can see the different artistic interpretations of the same subject.
This is my first time actually posting the challenge and typically, I'm late already and for that I apologize. But, here goes.
This is a drafty barn, the type seen almost anywhere there is farming. So let's see where you put it.
You've got two weeks to paint and post the displayed reference(s). Close date is June 29, 2009
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Use any medium, any size. Post any time with your explanations.
GET OUT THOSE BRUSHES, AND PENCILS, AND PASTELS, AND SO ON.
Go nuts and have fun.

You're a sadist. Incidentally, how much did the buyer put down before he got the sub prime loan?

Hey tg, this aughta be easy for a pro like you...and it was zero money down and only $2,000 per month plus a land lease....hehehehe
Kathleen, hence the reason its drafty, plus a great view of the outside, from anywhere in the building. I hope this gets the creative juices going...

Hey Mack, where is this place? I bet my husband and I could get this old barn back in shape. I love this picture and will try to get a painting done. Thanks for the reference............Lenore

Lenore, cb and Anne, give it your best shot. And I am not a sadist, more like a masoucist (sp?) since I'm a Toronto Maple Leaf fan. If I were a sadist, I'd ask you to do fine detail....well maybe now that you mention it....

Nice Lenore! The building is so strong - and while the mountains are nice you dont need them....great snow too!

Re: Paint Out # 16 - There's a Draft in Here
Thanks Anne. Glad it meets your approval, it was fun to paint and I may try again, but I am waiting to see some others put their paintings up.
Thanks Kathleen, but I like mountains. I know I could do a better job on them, but I'm just getting warmed up on painting them again. This old barn would make a great ACEO.
Hi Mack. No, I love detail work. I may do it portrait style just for you, but I want to see some others participate first. I'm usually first as I have no patience, lol.
Thanks everyone..........Keep having fun.......Lenore

Re: Paint Out # 16 - There's a Draft in Here
Here is an attempt to conquer the challenge!! A quick pen sketch, can see some serious drawing issues....no architect here!! Might try to add some colour? Are we allowed to have several attempts?? Dana

Very nice work, Lenore!
This is a gorgeous pen and ink, Dana. I think you conquered the challenge - and won!
