June Ab Con Challenge
Well, I've been hit up for the June Ab Con Challenge. So here goes. I want everyone to create a painting without using a brush or palette knife. Use a stick, a sock, your fingers, the cat. Dig in and have some fun and be creative. It is okay to mix the paints with a brush or palette knife, but do not apply with one.
I have not done an entire painting this way so it will be new to me too. Here is a picture of some of the items I use. And remember, have fun!!!

Re: June Ab Con Challenge
Funny, I just did one and posted it in the crits forum (Turbine). But, I did it in May. Also, it doesn't quite count because I did one of the shadows using a brush. But the rest was elastic dipped in paint and "thwapped" onto the canvas.

Re: June Ab Con Challenge
It is interesting topic. Without brush or palette knife, artists will have to be more creative to have get a good-effect-piece. I have applied the pouring technique to a series of paintings with the theme of LOVE.

The only implement used to create this image was my old credit card.

Randy, this sounds like a fun challenge and I'm looking forward to trying it! Vang and Gal, your entries both look great...beautiful colors abstracted and in motion!

Vang - very cool. Looks like a lot of fun. Is it acrylic?
Gal - Credit card...excellent! Your piece came out really good. I'm going to add a credit card to my arsenal.

Re: June Ab Con Challenge
Vang-
Interesting effect- almost looks like marbleizing ( oil paint on water/paper dipped in )...except for the suggestion of an elongated figure..
Gal 1952-
Great movement and light effect around the central orb..like an all- seeing cosmic eye!
( I"m projecting, I know ) ...
 to the non-Visa card!
Like this challenge a lot, RandyC!
My 2 back-to-back classes end the last week of June, so I hope I make it this time around!

Re: June Ab Con Challenge
Love your organic piece Vang, that is more my usual style but I tried something different this time, a soft bendy credit card is best but any will do the job! Thanks for all your comments.
