Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
Your pictures are awesome. It struck me how blue the sky is in your photos and then I realized.... you can't see the sky through all the smog in Houston, TX.

Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
Deirdre, was it a trophy or something in your second picture? Your grandfather looks very cool.

Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
My grandfather owned the smithy,,so dressed accordingly... he's the second on our left. The ornament ironwork in the second picture I really don't know...could it be a brazier...or even a piece to stand outside a shop...or an apprentice piece? Just guesswork on my part I'm afraid...

Deirdre - My husband is an artist/blacksmith and does this type of work! He absolutely loves these pictures! If you have any more of the, he would love to see them! We really want to see INSIDE the shop, too!

Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
I've wanted for a long time to find pics of a working smithy, inside... The smith pounding hot metal, surrounded by his tools & mess.

Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
The pictures you have selected for your photography are wonderful. The scenario you have captured are very clean, bright and real. It looks that world gone to silent. Also i love that man pictures and the show piece scandal kept besides him.

Re: Blacksmith Shop and Mill
Yorky, that is just NOT fair! As in, I'm gonna hafta ask the Big Bosses to take away your Admin status... I mean, how can we have an Admin who is so tawnting as to show pics like that!? Oh, to be ables to spend time there, watching, helping as can, taking photos, painting in oils (Thick! Strong!) & planning future paintings. Mebbee a few sculpts... Big sculpts in light materials that could be painted or fauxed & hang on a wall.
Jeeze... Wahhhh!
