I fell in love with this little guy the minute I scrolled down the photos for this week. He's precious!
I traced him to get within the two hour mark and to get his features in the right place. (Takes me a while to get a likeness otherwise.) Then I opened a new canvas, put the drawing over it in a way that I could see through it, and painted on the blank canvas beneath.
Used Den's oil bristle brushes (in Painter 11) to paint. It actually printed out very well, both on a canvas sheet and on photo paper. I think this is the first time I've painted with oils -- digital or real -- and not blended it to death.
Oh -- I used different colors in the shirt to complement his skin.
