Green Apples

Hello Everyone,
I've attached my green apple painting (14" x 11" - oil) which just never seems to be finished. Not sure about the sun rays, gut feeling is that composition might be getter without them. Opinions appreciated.

Re: Green Apples

Lovely painting. The sun rays do seem to distract from the COI. Your choice, naturally.

Re: Green Apples

I agree re the sun rays...perhaps would work better more diffused? Overall though you've done a lovely job...especially the the apples, which look good enough to pick up!!

Re: Green Apples

Lovely painting. I am in the minority here, but I like the sun rays. I think they help the viewer move around the painting.

Re: Green Apples

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, much appreciated! I think I'll do a compromise and just mute the rays - they'll still be there but not at all obvious.
