Lightbulb WDE 5/15/09:images Here

I will be posting 16 images and a challenge for those who wish to try something out of the box.

Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials.

For the next two hours, just go for it! Use any medium or style – it’s up to you……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work over the weekend into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, we now run a 'Catch-up' thread in the forum each month where you can post any WDE not completed in its allotted week .... it's a sticky near the top of the forum page.

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

Further information, if needed, may be found in the Schedule thread here.

Updated guidelines for Newbies.

Hi Res photos may be found here, I think... This is first time trying this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/michael_akin/

For the challenge, pick a medium you haven't used in a while or you are not comfortable with and give it a try for a change. Surprise yourself.

Mike

OMG Little Jack had me grab the nearest pencil and start scribbling ! Pity the paper's not big enough to work on and it's full of telephone numbers. Great pictures.

Re: WDE 5/15/09:images Here

WOW Cool ty for posting earlier so much appreciated

I'm going out tonight but I can at least choose what I like and make a start.

I love that riverboat. but then I LOVE ALL boats!!

now to decide whether to pick ONE and do a long and really worked piece or do a few short studies.

The challenge is to use something - I haven't used a while or not comfortable with.. well these 2 would be watercolours and dusty pastels. I used WCs last WDE so might get out my pastels/pencils, however, I only have a very limited range so might have to supplement with contes. (Which I also used recently)

Lots of people. So hard to choose....

Pics are wayyyy coool

One question.... the first ones... 1- 5 do you have titles for them please?

Great images! I haven't decided whether to dare try for the horse or go with the amaryllis, maybe I'll do both.

A pleasure to view your life and world!

Your Jill relaxing after a long drive shares the same 'look' about her as my 18-year-old after a similar long, hard day doing something-or-other!

I also find that horse shot- and what a great old carousel; rare here!- particularly appealing!

Re: WDE 5/15/09:images Here

I have decided to go for the challenge in 2 ways...

1/ I struggle with florals so I am going to do the flower
2/ I really dislike dusties, so I'm going to use soft pastels and pastel pencil

Now I'm off to go get some suitable paper

I think I will also do the beach scene in pastels and conte's

Then......
hmmmmm

I kinda like the canon but can't decide on the medium!
