Very nice Carl! I love the smokey sky and flames. It is very dramatic.

Re: Fire At The Lighthouse

Wonderful stuff, Carl. Here are some brief thoughts:

Flames often have a yellow portion worked in with the reds. I would suppose this is hard with w/c to put light over dark but it's a comment.

The single tongue of red flames moving up and right seems a bit unbalanced. Add some smaller ones moving up on the left.

Don't just have this at the show. Try to sell it to fire insurance agencies!

Re: Fire At The Lighthouse

Agree with Bob: fire isn't particularly believeable. Attaching a piece of reference that shows what Bob has observed about yellow and edges.

Re: Fire At The Lighthouse

Frame it, learn for the photos afn teh expert advice form Tg and corby and sell it to a fireman. Still a powerful piece. Use more than one photo for referance next time.

Re: Fire At The Lighthouse

Do what everyone says above , and then look at that tower.
The side facing us is exactly the same value as the side slanting away from us. That's physically impossible, especially if a fire is raging on our left.
Think of the flow of light and heat.
