Purple Hydrangea (x-post)

16x20 on canvas.
I have a little spring fever and had to paint some flowers. I was working on painting thicker and with less strokes. Painted with Golden Opens.

I love the delicate, yet painterly, work! Great color, too. Love it!

Re: Purple Hydrangea (x-post)

Your beautiful painting takes me back to when I had a whole row of beautiful hydrangeas along the north side of my house. Just lovely rendition of a beautiful shrub.

I really like that. The colors and style of brush strokes is very appealing. Great job.

Re: Purple Hydrangea (x-post)

Thanks everyone, I've learned something from applying the paint this way, and I hope I can carry the process into other types of subjects.
Hmm, I don't think I can make my oils do that, I think it would come out softer.

Fantastic, I love the texture you've created on the leaves and petals
