Gone to the Dogs and the odd Horse

While channeling the patience to work in an exacting manner on Ben I found myself needing an outlet for that "oh just get it done" little devil that seems to sit on my shoulder while I draw. The result is a series of dogs which will end up gracing the walls of my dog grooming shop. And the odd horse. Here the first five. The rest to follow.

Here's the rest. They served the purpose of taking me away from my Ben drawing so I could go back to it with less anxious eyes...plus they'll adorn the shop walls when it opens in May.

I love the style of these, Eldy! You dogs are adorable (expecially that basset!) and the horses are very good. I love the first horse you posted, it's so graceful!

Re: Gone to the Dogs and the odd Horse

Jenna, Ken and Chuck I'm so glad that you like these! I had a good time drawing them. I've been drawing horses for a long while; they are in my comfort zone. Dogs and cats are a new drawing endeavour. Lots to learn but it's still good fun.

Thanks for looking!

The boxer is cute. I especially like the first horse drawing but they are all very good.

Re: Gone to the Dogs and the odd Horse

You've done a great job rendering expression on those little cutie faces! You're also spot on for the amount of white showing in their eyes with respect to the way they're looking (at least you are relative to my little terrierists).

Thanks for showing us your work.

Re: Gone to the Dogs and the odd Horse

Thanks so much for having a look! We're just back from Vancouver where my hubby had knee surgery so I haven't accomplished much for a while. It was amazingly time consuming keeping 3 dogs quiet and exercised in the 2 dog maximum campground we stayed at. I do have 2 more cuties for the shop wall anyway.
