Cool fast & fun

After the mind-numbing effort on my last painting (the funny pages) I felt like popping off something quick & easy, so managed to complete four small pieces in as many days. Here's a couple of them. I've never attempted dogs before, but found them most enjoyable. The Boston Terrier is 8x8 on cradled wood panel & the "Weiner Dog" (can't write that without a smile on my face ) is Henry, my cousin's pup & will be a surprise gift for her. That one is 10x10 on canvas.

Coralie the terrier is cute but that weiner dog is precious. I don't know how you managed but you actually captured that puppy look. Your friend will be delighted!

Re: fast & fun

Thanks Gayle, Mary & Howya! Yeah, I like the second one best too - probably because the first was from a photo ref of an anonymous dog. I've met Henry though, so was more invested in the painting. Very nice of y'all to comment!

Re: fast & fun

How wonderful these paintings are.
Who can resist those dark brown eyes and over sized paws of a pup?
The terrier is just waiting for his treat.
You do animals well Coralie....Very well.

What fun. How cute. They can come visit my kitties any day as I am sure they would behave.

Being a weiner owner, I am partial to the second. Love the puppy look you captured so well.

Re: fast & fun

Thanks for the nice comments Jeff & Kathleen & Ruthie & Carol & Tony! Carol, I'm sure these guys would be exceptionally well behaved - thanks for the invite! And Tony, I can't promise a series... I think I have ADD... can't seem to hold a train of thought for long! Thanks for the encouragement though!

Great paintings! It makes you wonder what dogs are thinking when they look at you like that.

Me also, and how true that is. I have extreme trouble committing to commissions. And a series isn't planned, it just happens. If I plan one, it's a series of one.

Just keep painting dogs when you feel like it.
