Okay so do you have to paint on velvet? No... but if you want to that's okay! We won't tell anyone... But since today is the anniversary of ELVIS' death... I thought rather then just do regular sketches of him we'd emulate a less than popular format of the Road Side Arts!

Now naturally you wonderful Glass People aren't expected to do our medium, but I thought hey how about designing an ELVIS BEAD! Something to "bead" your own Elvis jumpsuit, I know you guys have them hidden in the back...

Anyway think about it... I think you guys contribute alot to WC, and we need to get you out amongst us for some of this FND fun! We won't bite... unless you ask nicely

So here's what we're doing... we're using bright colors on black (covered canvas or paper or digitally covered space) and we're going for that cheesy yet fun kind of image you normally see to depict clowns with sad puppy dog eyes...

I know you guys are capable of doing anything you put yer minds to, and I thought this would be a great excersize to loosen up with something that's not a mind boggling endeavor as most of our art life consists of... SO PLEASE come join us, have some fun, try something new... break out those neon colored pencils you know you bought, use some of those colors you'd never mix in your right mind next to each other... and come depict the KING of Rock n Roll!!!

I will post the links to images at 7:30pm, as always you have 30 minutes to choose which one to "start" with. Then work for 2 hours (from 8- 10pm) on as many of them as you like, in whatever medium you find comfy...

Then post yer work in the Art Projects section, and come join us in the Cafe Guerbois Chat Room to meet and greet your fellow WC members...

Ya'll have fun. I'm opting out of this one - since I live in Memphis and have to dea with what we somewhat affectionately refer to as "Elvis Hell Week" twice every year - on the birthday and death day. It's been nothin' but Elvis for the past two weeks around here. Well, that and rain...

Hey, Bobby, thanks for the invite! I enjoyed the chat very much, and I enjoyed making my entry (and I don't even like Elvis, particularly!).

This project finally got me to move in a new direction that I've been contemplating for a while--digital art. I had so much fun discovering the bells & whistles on my photo editing program. And also, I had fun choosing which reference images to use.

Thanks for giving me the incentive to try something new!
