I vote that you post someone else just to be fair. But I won't spill the beans.

By the way Andrew Wyeth was quoted as saying that this artist was one of the greatest American watercolor painters.

Andrew Wyeth was asked to make a list of the greatest American artists in watercolors, and he named Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keefe Winslow Homer....and mm1725.

Re: Mm 1725

Yes. When my grandmother died at age 100, I kept a large framed print that had hung for years above her living room sofa. A couple of years ago, I took it out of the frame to see if I could see a signature. I found the signature of MM 1725, so I did a web search for him. I was thrilled when I found a great web site and was able to correspond with his daughter.

Re: Mm 1725

Uhh..
In the interest of those of us who actually can not read that signature as clearly as others apparently can, who is the artist of this MM?
What is the title and date of the piece?

Please post the answer here.

Thank you.

I'm sorry too, I wasn't going to give it away if others wanted to search because the couldn't read the signature. I figured if I could see it at my age everybody else could too.

That is a really great site at California Watercolor.com. I'll have to bookmark it for future mm searches.

That depends, i.e. on my new laptop screen that jpg is small. Perhaps on my other computer, with the old monitor, it might be bigger, but alas I don't use that computer.

Regardless, thank you berningc for posting the answer.
