I like how prudhon gets that textural quality in his drawings...they are drawerly. instead of painterly.

I am AMAZED at how this worked but wouldnt have had a clue without Rebbeca's excellent step by step instructions. Thanks for a very enlightening challenge this week Richard.

Prosenjit - I like your take on this and the fact you took her up a couple of cup sizes.

Richard The Drapery King.

Thought I would show my WIP. White pastel and charcoal pencil on blue Mi-teintes pastel paper 9 x 12". Didnt have time to make my own charcoal!

Tina, that is blooming marvelous.

Prosenjit, nice work. I've probably not been clear before but I like how you reconstruct the image from a (presumably imaginary) image. The key area here is where you have replaced the impression of fingers with a concrete collection of 4 fingers.

Richard, lovely start.

Indoor lighting, sorry . . the paper is actually blue. I'll shoot it outside when I'm done. As you can probably tell, I never know which side of the paper is the correct side to draw on.

Wow Tina... stupendous! Now THAT is some sincere interpretation of Prudhon's style, and the outcome looks so authentic, including the melancholy in the model's face. Thanks so much for the w.i.p, will take a while to study it. LOL @ you observing the enhanced 'cup' number err... I guess my Y chromozomes had a subconscious roll in it.

Thank you Nathan... yeah, I was really exploring possibilities in this wonderful sketch, hence the hand reconstruction. I think I will do another one, because in this I was lazy and began to sketch from a corner, ending at another, without drawing a basic overall outline - hence the proportional issues (lessons, lessons, lessons) and the cup sizes Tina mentioned (not that I totally dislike that outcome )

You are welcome Richard, its an honour

Prosenjit : Solid study of drapery. Your imagination filled in some blank areas I'm having problems with because I can't see them in the original. Thanks.
