Warm winter day
Hi Folks,
The temps were in the 60s yesterday. I felt pretty rusty, but I'm glad I made
it outside.

Hey Wyn,
Glad to see you got out to paint. Nice one here and that bare tree on the left looks particularly good. Wheel ruts in the foreground too parallel?

Looking good Wyn. I like your color choices. The weather has been great in NC the past few days - Alas, I am stuck indoors at the "9 to 5" job, so I have been sketching on my lunch break with my pocket watercolor kit and hope to do some PA this weekend.

Re: Warm winter day
The way you keyed the values up not only brings the barn out at us, but shows intense sun.

Thanks Randy. I'll fix the ruts. They were that way, but don't read right.

Hey Justin, Thanks. I've already been getting paint-out notices from Harley. Maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks Kyle. I spent most of the time trying to get the values correct and the drawing right.

Rusty? I'll trade your rust for mine any day, Wyn. It's good to see you out and getting warmed up for some spring paintings! I like this one - the grass up my way looks a lot like that, except yours has more green!

Thanks Donna. Some of the grass stays green all Winter long here.
I tried to fix a thing or two. Here is the result.

Re: Warm winter day
Nice changes, Wyn, thanks for showing them. Looks like you widened the tracks a little and softened the edge of the shed with a little slope. I like the slope - it kind of keeps our eyes in the painting on that side. I'll have to remember that.

My perspective lines looked a little off. Another case of a building built into a hill. I forgot to put in the hill! It reads better now but I still need lots of practice drawing buildings outside.

Nice feeling of light created by your choice of values.

Re: Warm winter day
always good to stretch, and dust!!! The value contrasts are what catch the eye on this one...
