Agreed! (as I said above). My last one ended up with about 12. I had 4 layers for the hair -- and this guy here has lots of that!

Re: What are you looking at?

Welcome Orangesol Out standing drawing and painting ....Your work should be posted in Painters Alley. As far a layers go..I never use them myself. I rather paint like I do on a tradational canvas. I can't see using layers upon layers..too darn confusing. For back ground you can always fill in with the paint bucket, and shadow or paint some design lightly.. I usually fill my back ground in first. Then do the main subject. Also when doing lanscapes, seascapes, start from backgroud to the foreground. Thats how I taught art. Painter X is the best program to paint in as far as I'm concerned. I do have 7, and 8..They have a few things I still like there.

Lucy

Great job capturing the likeness... I just want to say that I'm sorry for whoever told you not to draw as a child. Skulls or not... drawing can be an essential part of the mental processes. You might as well tell a child who has music in him not to touch the piano! How utterly silly!

Glad you're taking it up again -- very well-done. Don't you just love Painter X???
