Artistic Expressions Challenge ~ January 2009

Welcome to the January 2009 “Artistic Expressions” challenge

The “Artistic Expressions Challenge” asks you to use your creativity to artistically express yourself in any way you feel like it!

If this is your first time participating - you'll find the background & a complete explanation of our challenge at this link ~ http://wetcanvas.com/forums/showthre...+EXPRESS IONS

“ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS” GUIDELINES:
The “Inspiration Info” below is meant to be similar to what a client would tell you when you’re hired to do work for them.

You may begin posting your work on the 20th. Waiting until then will give all artists time to solely consider the Inspiration info without being further influenced by seeing each other's artistic expressions.

Think of your post as what you would offer your client. You decide what the client has asked you for ~ and show us that! We also want you to feel free to describe (or “pitch”) your idea. Your post should include at least one photo.

There are no limits to your creative mind ~ and there are no rules in this challenge that tell you what you must be inspired to create! Just take a look at the Inspiration Info, go create something and post it! And if you are inspired to do more than one thing....(like - posting a sample board of a color wash for the walls, a decor item you've painted for the space and fabric samples) .....Go for it!!

The inspiration info below is supplied by the guides or moderator. If you have questions during discussion prior to posting on the 20th, we'll answer as if we are the "client."

JANUARY 2009
INSPIRATION INFORMATION

Your "client" has called you in to help decorate the master bedroom and adjoining office. They think you are WONDERFUL and are open to your suggestions for style and color.

The bedroom itself is 20 x 12 with cathedral ceilings ~ they are 14' high near the master bath and 10' at the far end of the office.

During your consultation, you made the following sketches. (by the way - these are quick sketches - not to scale!)

Small windows high above the bed bring great light into the room. There's a shelf above the door leading to the master bath. The bedroom opens to a home office area. An 8' wall divides the spaces. The master bath isn't decorated yet - but they think they'd like something old world - maybe Italian for that space.

Your sketch of the other side of the room shows the smaller dividing wall and the sliding door in the office which leads to the family pool / patio / garden area.

That wall also shows the door to the common living area. That adjoining space is done in light earth tone neutrals.

And here's the office (again - - NOT to scale). This space is 12 x 12.

The client is open to bringing in any decorative pieces and rearranging the space as you would like. The main pieces of furniture will stay.

That's it! Lots of room for YOU to bring your unique creativity into this space! You can choose to do any or all areas of these rooms!
We hope you have SO much fun with this!!! Just look at it as an invitation to be creative ~ Can't wait to see what YOU do, Chris, Michele and Sue Ann
