Post Project Discussion: 2008 Pastel Retrospective

A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: 2008 Pastel Retrospective
Project Leader: Paula Ford
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Painting
Medium: Pastels
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

Your best of 2008! This project is dedicated to all of your hard work throughout the year, so let's showcase your best!

You may select up to TWO pastel paintings that you painted in 2008 and post them in the "Final Images" of this Project. This project is for soft pastels only.

Please write a brief description of why you believe these are your best or favorite paintings of 2008, and include the size of the painting and materials used. Post your images in the Gallery Exhibit and post your discussion in the discussion thread.

Keep in mind these are finished paintings, so no critiques please!

You have to "register" in the Project itself in order to post your paintings. Use the "click here" link in the above post, register your intent to participate in the Project, then post your 2 BEST or FAVORITES of 2008 in the "finished" or "gallery view" part of the Project.

For those of you not familiar with how to comment on all the paintings, here is a tutorial: When you are in the gallery, you will see all the paintings at once. After commenting on the first one, close it out by clicking on the red "x" in the upper right corner. This will take you back to the comment page. Hit your green back button and it will take you back to the Gallery. Repeat for each one you want to comment on.

The reference links below are to the 2007 Pastel Retrospective. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...etr ospective. Thanks for your participation!

Additional Information:

For more information on the project: Click here!

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Thanks for posting our annual retrospective thread, Paula! I'm looking forward to seeing the paintings people select as their BEST!!

San Carlos

This is a special favorite of mine, for the reasons I put in the description of it. Of all the paintings I did this year, this is the one I would frame and keep for myself.

One thing that concerned me is that the 'thumbnails' on both of these are HUGE! I wonder if I should go back and substitute a smaller image file. Advice appreciated...

Deborah

This painting is one of the two video workshop paintings I produced for Artist's Network TV. I really like the way this one came out--it pleases me for a number of reasons, which I listed in my description. I'm also glad that it's been instructional for so many people. What a delight!

Re: Project Discussion: 2008 Pastel Retrospective

Hmmm, it seems the project system is a bit different this year. It's posting large photos instead of thumbnails.
