Unique and fascinating...this is an approach that I haven't seen used before with beads.
I was just talking with Laura and, part of our conversation was about Artists finding their own unique direction..."usually" it takes many moons before this starts to develop.

This poor bead was a round bead that well got squashed. It became a blob that I could not recover so I flattened the poor thing. I decided I would try and use some scissors in the glass. I use scissors to make my petals on my flowers you guys seen those when I first posted. So I thought I would just try something new.

Nice bead, Laurie, really cool effect with the scissor cutting. Good things come from our mistakes, like when we have to squash the bead!! Keep up the pic's

Cool, Laurie! When I saw this post I perked right up-- someone else experimenting with scissors!!

So far the biggest problem I have is cutting into a bead that I'm already happy with... It's tough taking the scissors to something you like, but I figure, what the heck....

Thanks so much for posting your bead!

This is so strange. I made a bead yesterday that looks almost just like that bead! I don't have a scan of it, or I would post it. I got some bonsi scissors at Embelllishments and I'm not very happy with them. The handles pass each other when I clamp down.

Cool Bead

Thanks to everyone. I use regular pair of scissors. I just cool them in water each time I use them.
