Re: WOLF

HiHeidi! I like both the softness and the personality that you have captured in this. (The eyes tell me this creature is thinking wolf thoughts) One suggestion has to do with presentation more than the piece itself. Colored mats are popular, but I feel they are best used when the piece itself cannot hold its own because of a color imbalance. The work in my opinion should instead be enhanced with a neutral tone mat...white, soft white, eggshell...the liner and frame can then be dark. Black, natural wood, or even carry the color that fits your decor...

The other thing has to do with signature, yours is beautiful! It is natural and bold, pleasingly formed. But it is large enough for a large painting and it is placed so as to garner too much attention. (It is true that signatures should be viewed as an integral part of a painting and not just automatically assigned to a corner) but they should not serve as the focal point and compete with the image. Welcome to the Wetcanvas! A beautiful piece of work. Thanks for showing.

Re: WOLF

Heidi,
I prefer the red frame - to my eyes, the eggshell boxes the picture off - I do however agree about the signature.
