Post Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Printmaker Holiday Exchange
Project Leader: Wandering Blues
Relative Difficulty: Easy
Type Restrictions: Original Print
Medium: Any Medium
Subject: Other
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: 25

Description:

It's time for our annual Holiday Exchange in the Printmaking forum! The theme will be whatever you choose to represent this time of the year. You can base it on winter (or summer for our friends down under), any religious celebrations, traditions, hopes, cultural icons, memories, etc. <br> <br> Size will be limited from ATC (2.5x3.5) to 8x10 using any printmaking medium (relief, etching, solar, monotype, etc.). <br> <br> Once on the list, I'll PM you for a mailing address. By Sunday, Nov. 30th, I'll email out a master mailing list. You will be responsible for mailing out your prints to the other participants no later than Dec. 15th, though we all understand if issues arise; just keep us in the loop! <br> <br> This is a wonderful exchange to be a part of and I personally look forward to checking the mail to see if another print has arrived to brighten up the day! An early Happy Holidays to all!

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Re: Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

hi wandering blue, does this mean we have to make 25 different printing blocks, or one block and pull 25 prints? I'm pretty sure it's the latter, but just want to make sure. Sounds a fun thing, chow fer now, Shelley

Shelley... It's one block (unless you want to do monoprints). I had fun last year because it doubled as my Christmas card to others...

Oh Shelley, I'm so glad you asked that question!! I'm in. I can do one block. (and then make it pretty 25 times!)

I have recently discovered the joy of print making! I hope you don't mind a newbie in your exchange! I've been wanting to do a unique Holiday swap.

Re: Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

Newbies (both to the forum and/or to exchanges) are definitely welcome & encouraged. It's a great way to leap in & get involved, but also a fabulous way to build your collection of prints!

Thanks for the renewed welcome, Ploverwing!
And thanks for initiating this new exchange, Wandering Blues!

Not a newbie, but still definitely a novice.....and now lucky #7 entrant!

Cheers to All,

Re: Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

So, is the size listed the IMAGE, or the PAPER?

Re: Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

You can make the image size the same size as the paper, bleeding it, or smaller. The important thing to remember is that you will be sending these out in the mail. If the paper is larger than a normal envelope, you will be paying more postage. Basically your pocketbook is your limitation.

Re: Project Discussion: Printmaker Holiday Exchange

10 folks have signed up so far; some familiar faces and some new friends as well. If we keep up at this rate, I'll get the mailing list out early.
