Re: Our Plein Air Shows, Awards, Articles and Events

Silvercat, you are so correct. It's a wonderful event and I had a great time last year. I'm just hoping I am accepted again this year. While I'm at it, I'll also be participating in the "Florida's Forgotten Coast Plein Air Invitational" this May 7th-17th. By the way, the Link Gallery in Cheyenne hosts the Wyoming Plein Air event and I'm very proud to say they also represent me. If any of you folks find yourselves in Cheyenne, stop in and see a first rate gallery run by some really good people.

Marc Hanson oil and pastel plein air workshop

It may be a little early for making summer plans, but I thought for those who block out time way in advance, I should let you know the great news....

After five years of begging , Marc Hanson is finally coming out here to give a workshop. It will run five days from August 24-28 at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, NY. The workshop is offered by Putnam Arts Council, so there will be good indoor space to work in case of rain, etc.

If interested, you can write to Putnam Arts Council at putnamartscouncil@comcast.net and they will email the registration form and further info, or you can call them at 845-278-0230.

You can check out Marc Hanson's website here: http://www.marchansonart.com/

In posting this I should state that I have no financial stake in this workshop, nor am I organizing it....I'm just happy to finally be able to take it! I'll be happy to answer any Qs about the area for those considering coming.

Jamie

Rene, fortunately, artists tend to live very long lives. I think he may be just barely younger than me, so I'm not sayin' nothin'.

Re: Marc Hanson oil and pastel plein air workshop

I guess I should start working on him to come out to WA state. I was thinking of going out to one of his Minnesota workshops this summer, but it's just to expensive with the travel.

Re: Marc Hanson oil and pastel plein air workshop

Lucky you Jamie! Someone in Kansas City talked him into coming down last year, but I wasn't able to make it.

Enjoy, take LOTS of notes and photos and please keep us informed. Better yet, take a video camera and share them with your fellow WCers. IF Marc will let you..

Jamie, this looks like a good EVENT Should it be in the events sticky at the top of the forum?
