Vigilant - NOW ITS FINISHED!!
I am definitely going out on a limb with this one  I have had this image for 2 years, since a friend of mine went to Kenya and snapped this. I have his permission to paint it  I have a couple of images of this same family that he took but this one I think has the best composition.
Momma cheetah is always vigilant, thus the title, for marauding lions that could kill her cubs and also for a food opportunity to feed her growing family.
I am working big again this will be 20X25 inches when done. It is going to be one heck of a leaning experience. Sorry that the paper looks gray, IRL it is white. The paper is Stonehenge.

Wow, Carol--that photo looks like a Frank Frazetta composition only with really fast flesh eating cats. Great choice! This one is going to be one to watch!
