My Comic Book

I posted this at a different site but since they're drawings I figured it would work well in this forum. So here it is.

I just scanned and uploaded most of the sketches for my future comic. Notice these are SKETCHES not the final product. I still need to start from scratch on the final versions which will probably be done on heavy stock paper.
There is no text. The story is of a man being taken on a journey into a bizarre underworld with a metamorphosing beast that turns into a tall man with a top hat and cane at the end.

Page 1 was missing so I couldn't scan it. It basically introduces the reader to a guy standing in an alley. A creature crawls out of a flood drain and grabs him. Page 18 is incomplete. There will be a total of 30 - 35 pages before all is said and done. I'm very interested in hearing anything you have to say, any ideas or whatever.

I can't bring any of them up. Maybe you can scan your actual drawings into the uploader.

apparently the site doesn't allow for image links. I made a webpage with thumbnail previews.. It SHOULD work. Let me know what you think

THanks. I'm a little insecure about the plot being so simplified. However this book is of a journey. So .... I'm just trying to keep it feeling like a ride. I'm thinking of incorporating some minor interations with characters in the world to break up the monotony of viewing the creature passing thru places. What do you think? I really want to know.

Well, that's a tough call. I have always tried to tell a story without words, but in this case maybe a few bizarre comments or thoughts might be fun. I really don't think you need it, but it might take your drawings to an even weirder place. What I really respect is your ability to keep a consistent look to all the pages without repeating yourself. I also really liked the top of page 13 where the monster is flying straight at you. You have a real gift.

thanks. I've come to the realization that it will take me over a year to do the highly detailed ink drawings of those sketches. so I'm thinking about cleaning up some of the drawings and edges in order to print these up. I'm just going to make a book up out of these sketches...what the hell. it should be a good 40 pages with additional artwork on the ends. I'll let you know when it's finished.

this will be my first venture into the world of underground comics. joy.

Your stuff always freaks me out, I feel like you are channeling Tim Burton... and I mean that as a compliment. It's all soooooooooo vivid... I loved the comic though, very inventive, and great mood... I swear I felt it was raining while looking at them... can't wait to see the rest... good work!

Bobby
