Christmas Orange

Hello everyone. Spent the holidays at my moms and painted this while I was there. Wasn't going to well then I decided to use it as a test piece; glazing, scumbling and what. May have pulled something out of it anyway. Wanted to get the texture of the orange.

Re: Christmas Orange

Hi Olan,
Beautiful study! It definitely looks orange-y in texture. My favorite part, however, where I keep going back to look, is the fold of green fabric over red fabric in the lower right corner. That is exquisitely done, and the elements of hard edge, bright complementary colors and perfect form, keep pulling my eyes back there to look at it.

Ruth

Re: Christmas Orange

Actually it was a purple one draped over the red one but I didn't like it so out came the green paint. Christmas red and green to me; the trick is to do it again when I want to; the cloth thing. Thanks Ruth and Gill.

Re: Christmas Orange

I really like the technical ability you've shown in doing this. Eqyually if not more... I just enjoy the interaction of color. I love that.
