Suggestions for completion.... or go ahead and have a go at this one

Hi all, I started this in painter IX, at 34,000 ft on a red eye from PDX to Newark airport. I was dead tired, but couldn't sleep. I worked on it for about an hour, and then I had to turn off my macbook to prepare for landing!
I'd like to go back and work on this some more and would welcome your suggestions, ideas, direction, etc. Hopefully your ideas will help get me going on it again. I'm including the source photo. I took the photo in early March in a local park. I'm purposely trying to give it more color, as it was a rather grey day.

Looks like you know what you're doing, except the blue in the water near the middle looks out of place.

Very lovely work. Just thinking out loud rather than giving advice here. Personally if I wanted to inject rich colors, desaturated colors would become more important. Colors seem more vibrant because of the colors next to them, so if I wanted richer colors, I would start with some very dull ones and try and see how splashing a bit of color on top would look.

Elaine - You have a very good composition. I also agree about the water.

Overall, a beautiful painting.
