**Daily Wash Monday 14th July 2008**

Good Morning World,

I'm back from my weekend in the caravan and ,by and large, weather pretty good with lots of sun yesterday, even did a little plein air...a bit of a novelty for me these days.....today dull and windy again, usually the case when I'm thinking about a few holes of golf after a day working! Bought a poseable wooden figure model from a car boot for £0.50/USD1 and another salt pig for the collection....

Results back from hospital and chemo seems to have worked this time so can now look at booking some holidays as they don't want me back for another three months..........

Must catch up of last three days washes...back later

Morning Geoff, good news on the chemo.

Had a nice outdoor lunch with friends yesterday although it was a mite expensive for us - £50 donated to charity.

Weather is dull here too, but no sign of rain.

No plans for today except some food shopping at the local Tesco's.

We had a good weekend. Went for a drive on one of the highways close by. It was raining a bit and everything has turned green on the outskirts of the city. It was very refreshing, however I wasn't able to get any photos this time.

Had some friends over for dinner this time, and my baby kept everyone well entertained

with all the noises she makes and by showing what all she has learnt.

Good morning All it is Sunny here - at last!

Geoff - really pleased that the chemo worked.
Doug, we had a BBQ and cream tea yesterday with the local parishes - all to meet the Bishops we are looking after prior to the Lambeth conference- One from Ghana and one from Georgia USA and only a few spots of rain under a threatening sky.

Monika - I bet that baby is growing

The painting class went well, but we have a three line whip to produce something for a little exhibition. So I decided to have a go at making a watercolour of this photo I took in India - rather than flowers.

I will hold myself to ransom and post te painting later in the week!

Good Morning.

It's 5 .35 here in Oak Ridges and just startingto get light. Not sure what we are going to be doing today. Probably have a relaxing day at home after our busy weekend other than a shop for some food.

Thats a great photo Robin, really looking forward to seeing the painting.

Great news about the Chemo results Geoff.

Monika, I expect your baby is growing fast and learning new things almost daily.

Hi Jen, Its nice to see your name so early in the wash. I hope when you have read this you have had a refreshing sleep.

Good Morning all,
It is just about quarter to six in the a.m. here in Oakwood and light is beginning to appear between the leaves of the tall trees outside my window. Birds will be singing soon.

They just started while I was still typing.

I'm off to painting class this afternoon so I'll finally put more paint on my Bee Balm Flower painting. Haven't done anything with it since last Monday. I'm still trying to write a coherent lesson on composition for Wednesday's class. I also need to find some good examples to illustrate various points.

Geoff,
Glad you had a nice weekend caravanning. Good news about the results of the chemo.

Doug,
Hope the lunch was a good one.

That was a good donation for a charity.

Glad you had a nice drive. Babies are so irrasistable when they begin to exhibit their personalities.

Robin,
That photo is going to make a wonderful painting. Look at those direction lines from the rails and the posts of the fence and the guy wires on the telephone pole. The light of the steam from the engine is wonderful. Can't wait to see it when you get it painted.

Ona,
After your busy weekend, you probably will enjoy just taking it easy (and maybe even painting a little bit????).

Hi everyone:

Just on 6:00 am here in Uxbridge, Ontario. Overcast and about 16 degrees. A sliver of sunshine on the distant eastern horizon. I awoke early with a backache from all that walking yesterday! No gain without pain?

Off to the hospital as usual later this morning to see Luella, but with all my visitors lately I must do some serious housework around here first. I haven't lived alone for 56 years, so I'm finding it difficult to cook for just one person but I'm determined to eat properly, make my bed each day, do the laundry regularly, and keep some stability in my life. Oh yes - once my visitors have all gone I will get back to painting again. I had to postpone a club demo I was giving on painting metal in watercolours, so I must get back to preparing that.

Talking of painting, I just looked in on an interesting video by one of my Facebook friends http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...oid=2388266003
(Would someone please tell me how I can replace such unwieldy URLs with "Click here"? The demo was called "Distant Foliage" Nice background music too.

I had quite a run-in yesterday with the local manager of Country Style, a coffee shop chain here in Ontario. They just did away with all china mugs, plates, and metal cutlery and now only serve all that wasteful paper and plastic. One of the staff gave me a china plate from the deli at my request and he tried to snatch it away! He had the grace to at least get me aside to tell me is side of the story.

His excuse was that staff were not properly washing the dishes properly and people "complained" and requested disposable stuff. I told him this was going against everything our society needed to do to bring about change, and that he was simply externalizing his costs by dumping his waste in landfills. I don't know about you, but I feel this whole business of drive-in coffee places causes millions of liters of gas to be wasted and generates tons of waste. He said his hands were tied and "head office" dictated what he could and could not do. If I were younger and had the energy I'd start a website or Facebook page to put stop to this sort of thing, but I guess that's a cop-out isn't it?

Enough of the heavy stuff.

Geoff: I had chemo for prostate cancer a few years ago, and, touch wood, I caught it in time. Hope everything stays OK for you.

Robin: Love that photo, in spite of all that pollution! This would make a super watercolour, and I agree with Doug - please post the results?

Jen: is that you snoring?

I must be off. Back exercises first with a very low-tech device I've had for years, then a nice hot bath to sooth my aching limbs. Have a great day everyone.

John,
I applaud your determination to keep up standards around the house.

When you are cooking, make a normal recipe, then divide it into two or three servings and freeze them. That way, when you are in the middle of a painting or visiting with Luella, you can come home and pop one of them in the microwave and still have a good meal. We do that a lot and on days like today when I have an art class or something else happening, I get one of my "ready-mades" out of the freezer for dinner.

I don't like the plastic and paper food containers for aesthetic reasons as well as the ecology standpoint. The food just doesn't taste the same as it does on a porcelain or china plate.

Time to wake up Larry and get things moving around here. We have a lovely cool breeze coming in the open windows this morning.

Rain, storms, pressure changes have played havoc with my oxygen needs and my old buddy, Arthur Itis. I hurt today.

HAPPY MONDAY WASHERS

We had a good weekend. It rained on Saturday so we cleaned the house spic and span. Yesterday (Sunday) Larry worked outside all day...cleaned gutters, weeded veggie garden, mowed the lawn (both ours and daughter's), fixed daughter's bed, and much more. I weeded the perennial gardens, did the laundry, baked a nice cherry cobbler, and made a nice BBQ'd boneless pork chop, baked potato, tossed salad, broccoli, green beans dinner!

It overall was a nice weekend.

I feel pretty chipper this morning so must have slept well last night.

I've been lax in doing my walking on my treadmill so must get back at it. I much prefer walking outside this time of year but where we live the way the vehicles travel I'm much safer walking inside on my treadmill.

Tonight I'm planning on doing some painting....son Josh's Grand Opening for his Tattoo shop is being held in a Lounge and he's having an art show there and wants some pieces. I have older pieces that will work but I'd like to create something new.

Lovely, sunny morning here and we turned off our A/C and opened up windows....lovely breeze and pleasant temps.

Well, best get myself busy here at work now. I hope you all enjoy your day and I'm thinking of all those who are in need of white light and gentle hugs.
