Why has this not sold yet?

I've been watching (& drooling over) this press:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150262766187
And I'm wondering: why hasn't this sold? $799 for a $3500 press?

I'm so tempted to make the trip over to Washington to buy this, but can't find a place for it in our studio (we already have a rather large press- 2x5 foot bed) plus, my back is giving me fits.

Somebody in the NorthWest must need something like this!

That does seem like a steal... but I think it has everything to do with 'location, location, location' as well as printmakers with limited home studio area. I'd also be tempted if I lived on the mainland.

Congratulations, Amie... I figured by merely having this thread up it would be sold soon...

Perfect location - congrats Amie!! (I was considering it too, but it is more press than I need at this point, and a little farther away)

Re: Why has this not sold yet?

Amie- That was the deal of the day, for sure!! It's a good thing that you popped in here and bought it before I read the thread- Otherwise I'd have been all TOO tempted to buy it and make the drive up there- It would look SOOOO nice in my new studio

I have noticed that location has a lot to do with press prices- Those that are in big cities and/or on the east coast seem to go for a LOT more! Though, at the price of that one, you could do a fair amount of driving and still end up ahead!

Re: Why has this not sold yet?

Thanks! It's a bit too much press for me right now, too, but I'm looking at it as a future investment and I reckoned that as I have the space at Mom's, it would be ridiculous to let such an incredible opportunity pass by; especially a litho/etching combo (not that I do etching, but what the heck, I can certainly use it for block printing and monoprinting!). Looks like we're picking it up the week of July 14, so I'll definitely let everyone know about that! It will have to live in pieces until the end of August when we go back to Mom's but that's ok. I'll post pics eventually of it in its new home. So really, it's not just for me, but also for Mom (New Gamboge). I'm not yet excited, but I sure will be when we're going to pick it up; it's a little abstract right now, and I've got so much going on that I don't want yet to think that far ahead!

Congratulations ploverwing!
I didn't see this until it was all over, so I'm not even sure what you bought. But if I can help out anyway, let me know. I live in Seattle!

Re: Why has this not sold yet?

Oh, I just finally scrolled down the Ebay page and saw the pictures.
Very Cool!
I have a great etching press, but not a litho press. I'm sorta glad I didn't see it first, I probably would have bought it and my husband would have thought I'd come unhinged!
Does the rolling cart come with it?

Terry - I don't know if it comes with the rolling cart; I hope so! Even if it doesn't, it's still a darned good price.

Re: Why has this not sold yet?

Good for you Amie. I just saw this post tonight and went to ebay to find it gone. I'm glad it went to a good home, even if it wasn't mine. :-)

Re: Why has this not sold yet?

Congratulations Amie! What an incredible deal - if I were closer I sure would have snapped that beauty up! I can just see it in my basement instead of the pool table that never gets used anymore, although I doubt if my husband would understand that concept. I paid $2000 for my medium Richeson press with a 20" x 36" press bed so $799 is such a great bargain - you will enjoy that press for many years!
