Just beautiful, Ruth! Your background is "inspired!" Love it! And your featured performers are simply wonderful ~ !
Did you happen to take a WIP pic of the background? Such wonderful movement ~

Re: powder room with herons
Oh boy, I can only imagine what the husband must have been seeing (or NOT seeing, to be more accurate) when the red went up without any of the herons or grasses. I would like to see the background alone too, if you happen to have a picture of that.

Just stunning Ruth! Yes, I've found that most people have little ability to see past the paint on the wall, whatever stage it happens to be in. Sometimes I think we just have to say, "TRUST ME, I'M AN ARTIST!"

Oh my, Ruth, I really love this. It's almost a vignette in reverse - you're gradually moving into the scene instead of fading out of the scene. Wonderful idea you came up with.

Re: powder room with herons
I didn't think to take WIP photos, but did get this one just before putting the heron on it. I used sponges to work the red and blue together, then sponged metallic copper and gold on top of that. Doesn't look like much before the birds get painted!

Re: powder room with herons
Really beautiful! I really like the metallics worked into the background - gives it a feel of an Oriental screen painting. Your herons are stunning.

Thank you Bluemoonstar, I like that effect too. I'll probably use it again.
Hey Tammy, thanks. Nice to see you!
