Scavenger hunt #88 June 10 - June 18

Hi, welcome to Scavenger Hunt #88 ( I know the last hunt was #89, but due special circumstances of some sort, this week’s is #88) This is the first time I’ve had the privilege of hosting a hunt and I hope you will enjoy this one.

if you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one, we'd really appreciate it! You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting list in the Art from Life forum:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...hreadid=366347

Now, Here are the rules for the Hunt:

* All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo references.
* Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed to by unanimous vote among the participants.
* You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count those objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one list item.
* All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you sketch and post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate! The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you to do each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups.

Photos of your subjects are also welcome

Great list, Chuck. I am sitting here looking at at least four of the objects I can start on now. I am ready to get started. Hope to get this list going asap!

Ahhhhh, Chuck. Great list and I should get more done, going back in time and all. Ha. It is a little hot here for the outside things, but I will work on this anyway. It is 98 at the moment with about 70% humidity. Ouch!

Later,
Jo

Jo we were 101 yesterday but don't have the humidity you do. When do you migrate?

Re: Scavenger hunt #88 June 10 - June 18

Notes from Hunt 89:

Julie - thank you. Um - your art bucket is a Hallowe'en jack-o-lantern? Yay! Nice corkscrew and what fun pink shoes.
Azul - thank you. Love the truck with the bonus story notes
J - that's a lot of trees! Cute "something checked"
Jo - thank you. What does that switch control? Not much, presently, as I see raw wire ends. But what does it normally control? The book will be for sale and you can even pre-order it now. Check your PM box.

Here we barely crawled up to 14 C and we're in sweaters and drinking tea and trying not to turn on the electric heaters.

Cheers,

We don't have A/C so we have a water cooler and it is running all day and today on high. Won't be long till it won't be shut off at all. Will run 24/7. We will have triple digits quite a lot. We will be wet, but from sweat.

Re: Scavenger hunt #88 June 10 - June 18

Is this a first? I'm first?

EP, I literally have buckets of art stuff (casino buckets...I didn't come home with money so I came home with the coin buckets.) Here's three just on the edge of my art table. But on the last hunt, I used the pumpkin as my bucket and the grey rectangular blob to the right of it was my pastel artbin in as my artbox.

#1 buckets full of stuff...the panda bucket (from San Diego Zoo) is my prismacolor pencils.

Watercolor crayons in my 9x12 inch Aquabee sketchbook.

Nice job Juli. Great buckets. I love the panda bucket! Brush filled bucket is good too. The popcorn makes me hungry. Have to go and get a bag and pop it. I agree the color is fine on the bag. Curly bulb drawn while surfing the 100 channels? You are so right. There is nothing on TV anymore (If there ever was)LOL

Julie, great start. Lots of stuff in that bucket. Pop Secret is my favorite, esp. if it has lots of butter.

J, it has been hot here, too. AC was worked on and 2 days later we had a leak in the ceiling where the outflow line was stopped up. It is much better now but the ceiling is going to have to be painted and more work done on AC. We like it cool! Esp at night.

Chuck- This looks like a fun list. I'm ready to get started!

Julie - Great collection of buckets! Love the panda from the SD zoo. I had a panda t-shirt from there. Nice job on that curly lightbulb and great job and super color on your popcorn bag.

Marilyn - Welcome back!! I love the rooster bookends!!! So clever and really nicely done. Nice lines on your scissors, tape dispenser, & lock with key. You should have put faces on all your trees...cute! Good wrench, gardening glove and garden too. Way to go!

Re: Scavenger hunt #88 June 10 - June 18

Marilyn, Great collection. Lovely Rooster bookends. Like the way the rooster is sawed in half. Maybe a failed magician's bird in a past life? The face in the tree is unique and excellent. Always looking at you huh? That's a hulking pipe wrench for sure and lock, dispenser and scissors and well done. The garden claw and gloves jarred my memory just now. I have to plant a bunch of chives for my wife. But first I need to post my work so far.

#1, the scissors. Small guys only 4 inches long. Use them to trim my beard. about 20 minutes, #B pencil on computer printer paper made into a sketch pad a few years ago

#2 padlock and key. !0 minutes. #B pencil. same fake sketch pad as
above.

#3 curly light bulb 20 minutes HB mechanical pencil. homemade sketch pad as 1 And 2

Thanks for looking

Chuck
