Jungle critters for little boy's room

Hi y'all! Here's one I just finished. Lots of pictures...

One wall fully painted, this is the left end. That's a stuffed toy giraffe in the corner.

Center of wall ...

Top of wall ...

Monkeys...

Frogs...

Lizards ...

Tigers ...

Crocodile ...

Shelves painted to match furniture woodgrain...

More fun than an old lady should be allowed to have!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH! I'm first to comment!!

Ruth, it seems silly to even tell you how great this is... you always do such amazing work, I'm always in AWE!

I can't even pick out a fave, it's all soooo great! But methinks I love love love that monkey hanging from his back feet, love the expression! And that tiger! And oh, the crocks eye is so big and lovely (are those crocodile tears? Just kidding, but the shine makes him look so teary)... What a lucky kid!!

Re: Jungle critters for little boy's room

Ruth- This is beautiful! Every little detail is so well done as usual. If you don't mind me asking, how long did this take to complete. When I have a mural with a lot of details it makes my head spin. I get caught up in each thing and find it hard sometimes to switch gears easily from one subject to the next. Any advice for this?
Thanks,
Cindy

Re: Jungle critters for little boy's room

Hey, thanks everybody! I appreciate your comments so much!

I took about 4 hours to find references and sketch the critters on the wall with charcoal. Then three and a half days to paint.

Cindy, you have to pick out which details are going to make the most impact, and smudge/fudge/smoosh the rest.

Ruth

So many animals, wonderful job. I love the Alligator, Lion and Tree frogs. The landscape that they are in is wonderful.

Love the iguana and the croc as well as the bird on croc's head and orange flower next to croc. Well, let's face it, I really love everything but those are my favorites.
