preacher

This one is based on a photo of billy graham from a book titled The Fifties. The book has a lot of really cool b&w photos in it of people who were famous in the 50s and some people who were not famous. I'd post the ref photo but I'm at work and don't have the book with me. also, I looked for the picture via google search but couldn't find it.

I made the face a little more sinister looking then billy graham's because I wanted the drawing to be sort of menacing looking, ala southern gothic Elmer Gantry style.

Re: preacher

Yes he is preaching brimstone and d**nation. Well done, I think. Don't post a photo from a book or the INTERNET because it could be copyright protected. I kind of like what you have done with this. I personally have seem that look a time or two myself.

Thanks. Good point about the copyright thing. I didn't think about that. Thanks for bothering to look at the thing and commenting too. I apreciate it.

I am thinking on working on a more substantial and detailed drawing soon. I've just been working on my chops, trying to develope some skill. I've only been doing this for about six months (or so) now.

Re: preacher

Six months??? You're off to a great start. I like this as it has movement in it. Makes the piece come to life. I'm like Jim, I've seen that look from him before.

Peace,
AL

Re: preacher

Thanks, Al. Yeah, I don't want to offend anyone but preachers, generally, scare me. That's sort of what I was shooting for.

Re: preacher

I think it has a great illustrative quality to it. I agree with Al, it has motion.
