Arrow PLANT PARADE: MAY '08 (A Forum Project)

Plant Parade May 08

It’s Spring and May is here!

This month we’re concentrating on cherries - the blossom and the fruit.
Now I know that we are unlikely to see both blossom and fruit at the same time - except in our artistic creations!

I’ve chosen three references of each from which you may select any combination of fruit and flower..... yes, please have both in the final work.

If you prefer to work from ‘life’ you will need to include your own references for the rest of us when we have our ‘reveal’, so don’t forget to photograph them! ..... please make sure both fruit and blossom are of cherries!

Works may, of course, be in any medium - and if there are any 3D creators out there who can interpret this challenge, we’d be delighted to have you join us!

Our reveal date for the delicious works is 25th May.

This month’s references:

mdefeiter - Cherry Blossom close-up

cherry branch-blossom, orangepassion

curious - cherry branch

bowl of cherries - madmum

bowl, cherries, water girl

sunlit cherries - olika

Have fun!

Re: PLANT PARADE: MAY '08 (A Forum Project)

Dumb silly question: Maureen, do we have to have BOTH blossoms and fruit within the same composition?

Seeing I didn't get around to doing last month's challenge, I may try this one...but don't quote me on that.

Re: PLANT PARADE: MAY '08 (A Forum Project)

Maureen, this challenge is definitely up to par with your others. You must have a treasure chest of ideas. How much more can you come up with?

I'm not going to say count me in yet, as I did not finish the April challenge, but if possible, I will try. I am presently working on a project for a swamp scene on a door mural and plan to post as a WIP so that it will force me to finish. That's how bad I am.

Sorry about extra post. It wasn't my fault, but at least WC let me edit. I was going to add something anyway. My husband is trying to get off 40 years of snuff and bought a lot of chewing gum. He's still tapering down on snuff, but I'm now addicted to Juicy Fruit. Anyone know how to get off gum? Do you know how good that stuff is?
