I love these brightly coloured works of yours, Humphrey. The backgrounds set the portrait off very well.

Hi everyone!
This is great. I don't have much time to paint, so when I do have time, I try to get as close to 'finished' as I can in one sitting.

Lawrence, looks like you have a great relationship with your dentist! that is great. I am a podiatrist myself, never had a patient draw me anything, but that would definitely make my day.

Here's my 1-day painting (5 hours to be exact). It was for the highest bidder at a charity event my friend hosted (so, of course I had to contribute something)...hope she'll like it!

I've been painting for three and a half years now--slow learner--and most of what I do is faces, including copies from the masters.

Hi Giao, welcome. What a BEAUTIFUL painting of a beautiful woman. Who's the model?

Yes, my dentist is a fine lady, and absolutely painless. Here's another of her I did this morning.

Lawrence, I love the use of color in your paintings, and the expressions you give the portraits-each brushstroke is expressive! 3 1/3 years only?

the portrait is of Camilla, the lady who bid at the charity auction, she e-mailed me a photo of herself after winning the auction. My friend Eric, who hosted the auction, showed a painting I made of him and got several bids, many of them from girls-he jokes that the girls must have thought they were bidding on a painting of HIM ! He's funny.

Welcome Giao. I do love your stunning portrait. I hope you'll show more work here.

Lawrence, did you take lots of photos of your dentist or are you working from memory? I agree with Giao, the colour and expressiveness of the brushstrokes are terrific. Did you show to your dentist?

Re: Paintings and drawings done in a day- May 08

Hi june, took 3 photos of her and did a portrait from each. (The first one is so bad that I haven't posted it, and didn't have any time to paint today so just did a speedo Modigliani-type study of her that I won't post either, just too atrocious.)

When it's dry I'll take that one I posted yesterday to show her.

Hello, this is a man-eater in mountains at night
It was mostly done with a 2H pencil so this is very light.
All the crits are welcome

softbug, you've got some good imagination in there, keep up the good work.

This is a quickstudy of the daughter of a friend of mine.
