Hi DJ,

Yes, I remember the Rocky Myn. SCHOOL of art.....at one time, I lived literally across the street from the school...I've considered teaching there at times......
My art education was ...unorthodox and perfect. In 1985, I considered entering Art Center in Pasadena,..and then serendipity and fate intervened. I met a group of well-established artists who occupied a building near my home in So. California,..and they took me on as an apprentice. For 3 years,..they generously gave me all of their accumulated painting experience(approx. 300 years worth, in total!),..and I soaked it all up like a sponge! From there, my art career soared,..and I moved with my wife to a charming, small artist's community in the Sierras of N. Calif.
To make a long story even longer,..after my wife and I split,I decided, in 1995,..to move back to Denver(probably a mistake, considering the changes to this huge metropolis!Since living here in Denver once again,..my career has several times been sidetracked by personal relationships;...LOTS of ups and downs. It's been very difficult, at times,...and somewhat isolating.
The priority in my life once again,..is painting,..and career.Quite the balancing act.....don't you agree?
I took a look at your homepage this morning You are a versatile and talented artist!
And your story? Cheers,-Scott

wow!

K-HOW.
Were you a dj? The name is tinkling in my head....
Charley and Barney?
I grew up on KIMN.

I entered a show recently in Englewood and wanted to get in just for a good reason to see my Dad without actually being required to spend a LOT of time catching up... you know, the obligatory, but most of my friends have moved.
I really thought it would be the MOST fun to see what WCers might want to get together on a Saturday at My Brother's Bar... if indeed, the old brother still HAS a bar?!

Scott,
I live and paint in SW Colorado. Sounds like we are eight hours away, not much chance of sharing painting outings. Would like sharing info, networking etc. etc. Painting is an isolating profession.

Cool

Hi Scott,

I happened to stumble on your post and thought I'd say "hi". I am in Golden..... how about you?

Have you had any luck getting a group of WC / Metro Denver artists together to network, etc?

I'd be interested in forming some kind of "group" where we could meet every now and then, .....have critiques, plein-air work, gallery visits, shared inspiration or ??? I think it'd be great & would love to participate.

Let me know.
bye,
cheri

Greetings Cheri,

I had the opportunity to view your homepage.
You certainly are proficient in a variety of mediums and appear to be quite the eclectic artist...

There are a small group of us here in town that get together informally and socially. We've formed a very supportive and gregarious family of friends.

Feel free to email me at : mattlart@mho.com ,....and perhaps we can chat a bit more........Cheers,-Scott
