Donation - WIP
This is a 9X12 still life scratchboard that I'll be donating to an organization to raise money for terminally ill children. It's a "Wine Tasting & Silent Auction" event. The organizer had seen a non-colored board but requested that this one I make be in color.
It still has a ways to go but C & C's welcomed.

Re: Donation - WIP
Oh my, this is lovely. I need to do something like this for a Wine and Art Show I was asked about yesterday. You inspire me. I've never tried a still life, much less glass. Pulling up a chair to watch it develop.

Re: Donation - WIP
Beautifully done, can't wait to see it colored. Your glass is so believable.

Re: Donation - WIP
Thank you Karen, Diana, Linda, and Tania for your kind words of encouragement. Considering that you all's works are genuinely exceptional I'll take you all words in deep appreciation. I just hope I do this piece justice when I add the color. The auction is on Saturday, May 3rd so I'm hoping to finish it this week. I'll post it as soon that it's done and before I have to hand it over.

Mary, Patrick and Lorna,
Sorry for the late response and I do appreciate your kind words. I'm still working on it and I'll post the colored version sometime next week.

Re: Donation - WIP - Color Added
Ok, here's the colored version. I might need to add highlights to the leaves.
C & C's welcomed and appreciated.

Re: Donation - WIP
I hope you don't mind but I darkened this a bit to match the first image you showed. If you lightened the background on purpose, I'm sorry...just ignore me.
I agree that some (but not all) of the leaves could use some highlights (just to put them on different plains). Did you intend to leave the stem of the grapes by the glass bottom unpainted?
It's a lovely piece and I think anyone would be lucky to own it!

Re: Donation - WIP
Lorna,
No, I don't mind the darkening, as a matter of fact, it looks much better. I guess my scanner must have lightened it up a bit. And OOOPS, I forgot about the bottom stem. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll go back and put in some color. I appreciate your input.

Re: Donation - WIP
Oooh, that is a very rich looking board! I love all those deep jewel-tones. I agree with Lorna about reserving highlights on the grape leaves to only those that would be closest to the viewer, it would help give a sense of depth to that area. Lovely work!
