By now I guess you know I am totally besotted with spinning! Not only that, I'm obsessed!!

But in a good way, of course.
Yesterday, at work, I had this really neat idea cross my mind about spinning up a series of handspun yarn with a Georgia (where I live) theme. Well, when I got home, I had recieved a couple of batts I had ordered from High Prairie Fiber and when I saw them, I knew I had to get started on the GA themed yarn!!
Of the two batts, one I have divided into two separate colorways. The first one-orangey colored one-I am spinning now-is going to be called "Tara". Guess what the first sub-group of yarn will be? You guessed it-Gone With The Wind-it put us on the map! I call it Tara because it has red (Scarlett), a bit of green (Tara and O'Hara) and pinks, oranges and yellows which reminded me of the sunset scene where Scarlett is standing in the fields of Tara and vowing never to be poor again, etc. etc.
My mind is awhirl with ideas for GA yarn!! So, I've decided as well to try to get into one of the local Autumn festivals and perhaps sell these yarns. I don't really have any projects in mind for them-I just love the spinning!!! Hopefully someone else would enjoy using them in a project. It looks like there will be two good sized skeins of yarn from each batt so it would be enough for them to make something substantial.
Here are the batts I got yesterday

And my first skein of Tara singles
I'm compiling a list of names for yarns to be spun! I now have to go order more roving in certain colors...sneak preview: "Frankly Scarlett"!
