Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

Good morning everyone - good thing I decided to do some more gardening yesterday afternoon - I planted peas - because our beautiful weather has been replaced by rain. But at least I don't have to water my seeds. I also finished my Heron reduction cut yesterday - the Printmakers forum people give wonderful feedback.

Heard the frogs for the first time the other night - they're late this year, but at least we still have some.

John - so sorry to hear about your camera - do you think it can be fixed?

Jaytee - don't worry about nearing 70 - I curl with a couple of ladies well into their 80s! And congrats on using your new PC, that's an accomplishment.Happy belated Birthday

Ruth - isn't it a great feeling when you do a DYI right! Lovely painting.

Denis - thanks for the chuckle, I, too, am Technologically Challenged - when my daughter got Windows, I click something and lose the desktop - it took me years to upgrade from DOS to Windows. I'm one of the remaining ew people who still use cheques.

Ellen - how's the art show going? Good luck with it.

I spent most of the morning cutting mats for our SASSe show - and so far, all I've got done are the backing pieces.

And hi to everyone else.
Betty

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JT!!!! Wishing you a wonderful and healthy year ahead with the energy to continue all your projects!!! Sounds like you, Sylvia, Lyn and I should get together next year to celebrate the big 70
Uschi, give me a break! I don't turn 69 until December--don't rush me! However, it would be a blast if we four could meet!

Rainy here today in the foothills of the Smokies. Turned up the delivery on my oxygen to make it easier to breathe. Have a dozen projects to do--all of them quite urgent! Can't figure out which to do first!

HAWLTAIN

May your today and those that follow bring you peace.

Hiya
I spent the whole day working on the painting for the Kettlewell Challenge. Not my favorite subject, but a challenge!

DH is much better after his virus, surprising, since he got only one day off this week! He had to work very hard as well since boss 1 and boss 2 were off to a confrence or something and Jack had to be boss. On the whole he would rather fix things.

Happy Birthday JT

Oh, got the thing done, it's in the gallery.

Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

Hey Everybody......

Just zooming in to announce/brag ....... I am the proud new owner of Tina's Boot Challenge painting.... I've always loved Tina's taxis and this one is wonderful....

We had a very busy weekend with Todd and Gus. They arrived mid-afternoon Friday and on Saturday the ballgames commenced... Gus' team won both games Saturday, two games Sunday and lost the championship game last night... ....

Gus plays for the McKinney, Texas Marshalls.... He looks soooo grown up for an 8th grade student.. He turned 14 in January.

Got news about Mikey yesterday.... Well, I've spoken to his wife, April, almost every day since the accident. He's finally coming to and responding to the nurses when they ask him to hold up one finger, two, etc.... and the best news of all, later in the day when a nurse started asking him to do the same thing, he flipped her the bird!!!! Yea!! Mike's back!!! I was really afraid he wouldn't be the same when he wakes up totally.... April's sister took the kids to Ft. Worth to see their dad this weekend and the nurses snuck little Elizabeth in to see him. (she's only 6 and isn't supposed to be in ICU)... I was so glad to hear she got to see him and April said he's been better about working at what they need him to do in order to be out of ICU... the other two are old enough to be able to go in to visit a few minutes...

I've got to finish laundry. We're leaving for Ohio to see David's family this weekend and I've got stuff to do. It takes me forever to get ready for a road trip...

Hugs to Everyone.....

Later

Emilie

p.s. Mike, I've been meaning to ask you about Brandt...... How is he doing? I've thought of him several times recently and wasn't anywhere near a computer so that I could ask...

Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

.........well my GL has been moaning ( not like her....) about something that digs up the garden................'tis the same thing that I moan about every day when it wakes me up....the 'house' pheasant!

Tonight I was planting snowdrops 'in the green' and the ............. bird was about four feet from me all the time.......arrogant or what!

Even when a neighbour stopped with her pair of very large Irish Water Spaniels the bird 'shouted' at them not the other way around!

Have just framed the Pen-Y-Ghent snow picture and it looks jolly good...if I say it myself!

Just dropping by to wish all of you a great day. It's going to nearly freeze here again tonight and all our flowers are out. I've got to spend most of tomorrow getting every thing out of the greenhouse onto my deck in back. It's a big job that I usually do around Easter, but that was waay too early this year...in at Halloween, out at Easter is the routine. But, some things got burned by the heat one day when it got really warm and the windows weren't opened. At least they'll come back and the clivia will get to bloom this year outside and even more berries will get fertilized!

JT, HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY WEEK!

Well wishes and good health all who need special white light.

I'm off to poke around...

Pat

Well, Lyn and Jaytee, guess we "more mature" ladies could tolerate you youngsters coming to tea with us...eh, Uschi. You can't help not being as seasoned as we are.

Geoff, What a gorgeous bird he is, posing like that he is asking to have his painting made.

Emelie, YIPPEE AYE YEAH! about your friend Mikey. Maybe his head was harder than they thought it was originally.

Wow, young Gus has that look he probably gives the other team's pitcher when he's up at bats. Handsome young man.

Jen, My heart would be in my throat if that were my kid on skiis. Guess you are more sanguine about it because you also are a skiier though.

Char, What neat shoes, but they do look like they would take some getting used to. I'll keep wearing my Meier's Croc $5.99 a pair ripoffs when I garden I guess.

to all who were here between my visits.

SYTomorrow,

Sylvia

Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

.... I just remembered that Mike is out of town. I'll have to remember to ask about Brandt again....

Sylvia, I like that word..sanguine.... one of them $5.00 words... I was telling Gus to look determined...... Should have asked him to smile also...

JAYTEE!!! Happy Birthday yesterday!! I'll send a jug of something delicious on the purple broom.... I have 'Annual Celebrations' now instead of birthdays... Don't have to talk about years that way....

Boy Howdy, it sure was windy all weekend. Cold wind blowing straight out of Canada... When the sun went down while we were at the ball field last night I was miserable.... Our low temp last night was 38f!!

Geoff.... that bird looks like it would taste good fried...

I've missed people so .... very sorry.... My brain is tired....

Hugs

Emilie

Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

I had a very productive day, first the Xray, on the way home I went to the car wash and washed off all the winter's salt and dirt, then did my grocery shopping, then changed into my grubbies, took a few pain killers in anticipation and gardened.

All the back garden beds are cleaned and I transplanted 4 big suckers that I should have done years ago.

Char, walking in these sandals would be like walking on a rocking horse

I did even better Sylvia, two pairs for $ 10.00. Excellent for bumming around and for gardening; my bumming around ones are bright yellow and wherever I go I am making a fashion statement

JT, sorry, I missed out on the "nearer"

Geoff I wouldn't feel save gardening with that thing behiond me.

Emilie, wonderful that Mikey is doinbg so well and that Gus does indeed look very grown up and quite handsome!!!

Betty, wonderful floral!!!

Jen In the Austrian Alps they have bars sitting right in the middle of the snow, spent some lovely apre ski times there

Pat, glad Liam saw the light!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have to get started with the cooking so I can be ready to watch "Dancing with the Stars". Bought myself some fresh salmon - looking forward to it, I am hungry.

to ALL especially the opnes I did not personally mention!!

Char, those sandals look like the MBT shoes that are so expensive, but are supposed to be really good for your legs, and bum! How are they to walk in?

Re: ** Daily Wash -Monday 14th April 2008**

Jaytee I was wondering if you'd seen some of the comments remembering that last year was 65 Whatever, hope it was a good day and as long as you can figure out the new computer you are young!!!!

Those Avon sandals look like they are made like the MBT ones which cost $250. They may look weird but a person can walk or stand all day in them!!!

Enjoyed everyones news - WLAHTAIN
