Lightbulb **Tutorial** Using a Grey Card to Photograph Your Art - Completed

Yeah.

I finally finished the document for using a grey card to photograph your art.

To save me a lot of time formating it for a forum post I have it in PDF format.
Using a Grey Card to Photograph Your Art Tutorial It did end up being a longer than I thought it would be. If anyone needs clarification just post here and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

I hope this helps others with better photos.

Cheers,

Michael

THANK YOU MICHAEL

This is so professional! Great job. I really appreciate all the time you spent putting this together!

You make it seem so simple. When I try it out I may have some questions. Somewhere here I read another way of manipulating the histogram/levels thingy. I really should take a tutorial on paintshop so I know how to play with it.

I'm looking forward to using my grey card now following your tutorial!

Carol

Many thanks from me, too Michael! Your time and willingness to share all of this is very much appreciated! (If I knew how to send you a dancing chicken I would ... but you would have to give me a tutorial first )

Michael, your a fountain of knowledge, have adapted it to us "dummies" who look at pictures but find the written word obscure, and it is even packaged elegantly.

Thanks a lot!

Saved it, will try it when I find a gray card, and get my new computer with PS Elements on tuesday.

Re: **Tutorial** Using a Grey Card to Photograph Your Art - Completed

Thanks for the praise. I am more than happy to do it. Glad so many of you are finding it easy to understand. I was worried with all the steps I put it that it may be info overload.

Here is a new adjustment I did.

The change was not as dramatic as in the tutorial but still essential as the corrected version shows more red in it, thus changing the background feeling. It changed from a blue-ish background to purple-ish background which is exactly as the painting is.

Re: **Tutorial** Using a Grey Card to Photograph Your Art - Completed

This is quite informative! Now, should I send my hubby up to attic to retrieve my grey card (ha ha), or should I try to buy one? Real camera stores are so hard to find anymore!

PS Is it ok to post a link to this thread in the watercolor forum? I think folks over there would appreciate it also!
